This notice explains how SPANDE processes personal data submitted through the newsletter subscription form on this website.

We use this information to send SPANDE-related communications, including announcements about workshops, conferences, seminars, academic calls, opportunities and network activities.

The legal basis for processing your personal data is your consent, which you provide when submitting the newsletter subscription form. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

During the first phase of the newsletter system, subscription requests are stored as pending records. Pending records that are not confirmed are automatically deleted after the retention period configured by SPANDE, currently 365 days.

Once a confirmed newsletter system is enabled, confirmed subscriptions will be kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data.

SPANDE uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure to process and store newsletter subscription requests. The services used may include Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda and Amazon DynamoDB.

SPANDE aims to configure these services using appropriate security controls and data minimisation practices.

7. Who receives your data

Your data is used only for SPANDE network communications and technical administration of the newsletter system. We do not sell your personal data.

During the initial phase, you can ask to be removed from the newsletter list by emailing spande.workshops@gmail.com. When automated newsletter sending is enabled, SPANDE should include an unsubscribe link in every newsletter email.

SPANDE takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect subscription data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Access to the newsletter database should be limited to authorised administrators.
